Is this in fact the same as a nerve block? And is this basically the technique used in Nantes and maybe elsewhere for pudendal neuraliga and also to treat back problems / pain?

Infiltration is another term for nerve block. However the coccyx is a different location from the pudendal nerve. The Alcock's canal part of the pudendal nerve is difficult to access and a very specialized procedure. We have a leaflet about nerve blocks and the techniques for these types of pain.
