Breathlessness

Hi, For the past few days I have been extremely breathless, the doctor is treating me for a chest infection even though I have no other symptoms. I am sure that I don't have an infection and the antibiotics and steroids are making no difference. I am generally not a person who suffers with breathlessness. I keep getting negative Covid results to.

I wonder if there is something in the air or if this unusual weather is making a difference?

I also wondered if it was like asthma although it's not happened before. Can anyone offer any thoughts as to what could be causing this?

maybe, it’s best to see a chest specialist. Hope, you are ok 🙏🌺

Yes, I booked a Brompton appt but it's for October next year. I am hoping it's just the change in weather.

Chrissie82 - hope you've made a full recovery. Just wondering if you got to the bottom of your breathlessness last year as I have had very similar symptoms for the past 11 weeks - unexplained breathelessness and 24/7 wheeziness with antibiotics/steriods/ nebulisers/infrared sauna/spending time in a warmer climate etc making no difference. Consultant has indicated best bet is hopefully it will spontaneously resolve itself but after nearly three months it is feeling less likely this will happen so trying to find out if there are any other solutions/understand what might be causing this. Not sure if this is just what PCD in your 40s is like - really hoping not! Appreciate any insight you can share. Thanks!

Hi, fortunately mine passed on its own after a while so the doctor thought it was viral, sorry i cant offer more help, I see an osteopath every few months and that really releases my lungs and allows me to be able to breath more deeply, I always feel the benefits of it, it may be worth a try xx
