low iron and ursodiol

i’ve been on Urso for about two years now with good results and bringing my numbers back to the normal range. In the last year, I’ve been dealing with significant anxiety and I’ve not had this before. I am postmenopausal and have also been trying hormone replacement therapy in the form of patches and progesterone pills. I am wondering if any of you experienced anxiety and/or depression from low iron from the use of Urso.

I’ve never had my iron levels checked and was reading online that sometimes low iron can cause mood issues. If I was to ask for an iron test, is there something specific or just iron levels?

If you've been on urso for years without and issue, I'd look to you HRT as the issue. It can cause not only low iron but high anxiety as well. Usually with the usual bloodwork there is a hemoglobin test on blood which would show a decrease but more extensive iron testing can be done. Ask you pcp or obgyn
