Yes there are a few things to stop RLS. I take trazadone in a small dose that has stopped it, and some people take a Parkinson's drug which I believe they have also found successful. Quite alot of PBCers suffer from this. Your doctor ought to be willing and able to help you find a drug to suit your needs.

Have you tried magnesium? That is a great supplement to calm the body! There is a powder called Calm by Peter Gillham. You mix it with hot water and drink it. It is great to help you sleep and may help to calm your body!

could you please tell me where can I get this powder I sure could use something. thank you. All I have here are 2 walmart and 1 kroger. at is a rural area.

Hi there.

I have just read the posting by melisab with regards to magnesium. I put the powder and name in the Google search and have been trying to figure out if it is a product that is only available overseas. Just the mention of the word... Center.... which is spelt the American way.

I am in the UK.

The bit about it being magnesium, I think that is what Epsom Salts is made of? I know I have tried that in the bath (Holland & Barrett sell one for bathing in as it has a few other ingredients especially for this purpose. Chemists sell the standard Epsom Salts for ingestion).

I know when I bought a drum in Boots it was stated on the label it was used for diarrhoea but there were also cautions on it. Over time it can apparently alter the ph in our system. I have thought about Epsom salts and their usage and have to say I couldn't help wondering if it would somehow neutralise the system with regards to it controlling the itch but I've not actually been that daring to give it a try.

I am of the opinion myself that the least I take for PBC maybe the better I might be. I do have the itch at times but for now altho' it is a nuisance at night at times, I can say I can cope with it. Who knows what will happen in the future.

I also can't seem to sit still for more than an hour if that of an evening anymore. Come 9p.m. when a time to relax prior to bed with a movie and I seem to have to get up and down. Used to like going to the cinema but can count that out of an evening now, I would just not manage to remain seated for the duration and as we all know, cinemas don't half drag the time out with about half hr of trailers and commercials prior to the film starting so that lengthens it even further.
