I have been on this for two months now and I am not sure that I like how my body is reacting. I have swelled up and I feel like a space cadet. Is this notmal and does it ever go away?

Urso side effects...
I have no side effects and to be honest haven't heard of that one. But I do notice some windy issues if I don't take it immediately after my food. X
Me neither Tracey181.
As far as I know urso is apparently said to be 'well tolerated'. I started on urso Dec 2010. I was never one for taking medications prior to this time as my motto has always been since adulthood if you can do without...
Some taking urso can gain a bit of weight, others can lose and others remain the same. I am roughly the same as when I originally started on urso despite not counting calories but i do go for quality over quantity. (I doubt I'll gain much weight anyway, I fidget too much later at night and sometime during the night due to the itch so probably burn any excess off.)
Now in the early days of taking urso for the first couple months I did get some tummy bloating. That can apparently happen but it is said to be temporary. Mine vanished after the first couple months. I also suffered heartburn that I never did prior to starting urso but again that vanished with the ones I took at the time. (I have found I suffered badly with heartburn with a different manufacturer last year but have resolved that now with a different brand.)
Some experience diarrhoea in taking urso but for me I went the opposite direction. I'd never been plagued with bowel hiccups prior to urso but have had to make anotehr few adjustments since taking.
I know in the early days I was for giving up on urso simply because I didn't want to be saddled for ife with a medication and also didn't want the side-effects in the beginning either. The itch I had which started me on the road to PBC diagnosis did feel a bti worse in the early days of urso but over time it has adjusted somewhat. I decided in the early days to wait and see what my first LFTs were like which I had about 8wks later. They were spectacularly good so I persisted.
But if you have any concerns about the urso, it would be more advisable to speak with a doctor. That way you can be checked over and take it from there.
Thanks guys
I was told by several doctors that URSO does not work....
