Had my every 6 month check up with the hepatologist today. Labs were all good. My alk phos is 121 - normal range for my lab is 37-153. Kidney function good as well.. always make sure part of your regular lab work is a comprehensive metabolic profile (CMP).
Now just to make myself committed to making walking a priority in my everyday life. I keep trying.

I can never get my ALP in normal range, alway fluctuating around the 150. Every time I ask my Dr. Should I be taking something in addition, she say No. Is this normal????
150 is ok..... most of us never get into that 'normal' range.... many believe that anything less than 200 is acceptable. It really depends on where your alk phos started from. Believe me, mine has been higher for sure. If your numbers overall are trending downward then Urso is doing it's job. Look at the trend... not just one number. That 'result' for your alk phos is what your level was at exactly the moment your blood was drawn. Hours later it may be slightly different. Always look at the overall trend. Looks to me you are doing well.
Great news about your labs. Committing to exercise is hard. I need to do the same. I jog and walk at least every weekend but need to do so more. I guess we just do what we can 🙂.
I am so sorry that I missed your question until just now. I was originally diagnosed in '85, when I was 35 years old. Over the course of the next 20 years before my transplant, my alk phos was in the 700's. Bilirubin was 3-4. CMP should be part of your routine blood work too. It looks at kidney function and electrolytes. Kidney function is really important to monitor when there is liver disease as well.
