Can anyone recommend travel insurance company. My Husband and I are both in our eighties, hoping to holiday in Greece this year with Family. We both have medical problems now, quotes so far have been enormous.

When I went away last year the cheapest quote I got was from Avanti . It was still high though ! For a 70 yr old with just PBC was £350 for an annual policy

Thanks for your reply, I tried Avanti, £880 for a single holiday. I managed to get it with Travelinsurance4medical for £417. Probably last holiday abroad, we're in our eighties, so having a last fling

Stay Sure is worth a try, you can exclude cover for diagnosed problems.

Look at Stay sure, they are specialists for pre diagnosed conditions such as PBC. They won't cover you if you are waiting for tests though.Helen

Thanks for your reply, we had found insurance with Travelinsurance4medical, unfortunately my husband was waiting for further tests so they withdrew the insurance and refunded our payment. We had to reconsider so are now going to Scotland instead of Corfu. Thanks to all for your teplies

My husband and I have had Annual Worldwide Travel Insurance with my Nationwide Plus Account for several years. It costs £13 per month for the account (£156 p.a) plus £65 for age. Husband is 77 and I am 80. My policy has just come up for renewal. I had a pacemaker in January and they want to charge an additional £168 for that making a total of £389. I thought it was high at first as I am now less at risk as I had an undiagnosed heart problem. Having had several quotes it seems good value as the nearest single trip insurance I have found is £100 more. It also covers travel within the UK.

Just seen your reply from two months ago Mogee regarding Travel insurance. Our insurance was withdrawn due to ongoing tests so we went to Scotland instead. We' still hoping perhaps to go away next year but will wait nearer the time before booking anything. Thanks for your reply
