hi guys, have you been successful in claiming pip? I have early stages pbc with the most awful chronic fatigue. Thanks
pbc and pip: hi guys, have you been... - PBC Foundation
pbc and pip
yes, ive had the most awful fatigue for 24 years,
At first I got turned down, I believe because it cant be seen, also that you are asked about lots of things and wether you can do them. The main problem is that they don’t seem to take into account the cumulative effect of action physically or emotionally.
You have to make sure you get it across that in isolation you can do some things but not ongoing after several times, or tasks in succession.
Also if you have pain along side your fatigue you need to include this.
Brain fog , and problems which are caused by the inability to cope with the fatigue, e.g. being able to concentrate etc need to all go down on the form.
There are a lot of places where the questions don’t cover all these things, so use the spare spaces to include all these details.
Very best of luck, but if you get refused you must appeal.
Best wishes .
Hi, I haven’t claimed PIP but I know others on here have and there has been some really good advice given on other threads. Hopefully someone who has recently been successful will respond. I would recommend that you get help from Citizens Advice with completing the form- they have helped so many people and are experts.
Yes make an oppointment with citizens advice to fill your form iť they know how to write it all down make yourself a list of everything your suffering & how you need all the help you can get when you cant drag yourself around any more cos of the fatigue i have pbc & some days i cant geț out of bed because of the fatigue you have to make sure all these things are on the form good luck & appeal if you get turned down 1st time go back to citizens advice
I'm currently going through tribunal with my claim- they scored me 0, on everything!!! Got my medical records, but still think I need some help! Good luck, use a charity who knows what's what xx
