Hi Robert yes l have read many misleading information.

I was diagnosed and started on Urso in 2012

At that time being extremely sick since 2008 when my liver failed and kidneys and even heart. The country hospital being unable to diagnose me.

I spent at least a year at home curled up with everything failing. My husband and nurse son did everything to help me . I showered myself ,was an all day job and then lay down for the day. My Cardiologist kept telling my GP that my heart was very good.

I finally made it to St Vs and was diagnosed from the appointment with PBC and admitted My Dermatologist( for a scalp rash) advised me to go to a liver specialist at St Vs

I had developed a interuppection of my small bowel that required a Small bowel resection in 2012

At that time my LFTs were very high. It took some years for them to come down to normal.

I was in St Vs for 3 weeks.

I have had a broken ankle ,clots and probably a lot more.

I am now 68 years old

I have recently been in hospital with PE and pneumonia. Pneumonia 4 times in 4 years. A silent pneumonia.

My question after all this ,l apologize is what is about my life expectancy l still work a 7 shifts a s F/N but with lots of extreme tiredness so do little else. My Drs are finally concerned and asking about my work.

When l ask about my time they just say you could hold on a while your readings are stable.

It is a long story of course ,l hope l have given the most important information for you Robert.

Regards Colleen. Sullivan .

Thanks, Colleen, for sharing your story, which is inspiring for me, an 82 year old diagnosed at age 80 with stage 3 PBC. My gastroenterologist sees me once a year, the attitude being that given my age I won’t die from PBC. Hmm.Meanwhile, my weekday routine begins with riding my bike for about an hour and twenty minutes. I have concentrated on diet and exercise; my BMI is about 20.7; and, while I certainly don’t have the mental acuity I once did, I feel no limits to what I can accomplish. I have an active life overall.

With all good wishes,

Don
