Ursodiol and thirst?

I’m almost 60 days into taking Ursodiol and I noticed over the last week in particular that I’m overly thirsty. Has this happened to anyone else? I left a message for my dr about it tonight.

Hi ginabean

I hope by now you will have had contact from your doctor. Being thirsty can be a couple of different things but quite commonly associated with PBC is Sicca syndrome or Sjogren's syndrome. This is where you get a dryness to eyes, mouth and other moist parts, also associated with being thirsty is diabetes but you will need to speak to your doctor to have that discounted. I did not look at your profile to see which country you are in but the UK's NHS Service has a page on Sjogrens at:

nhs.uk/conditions/sjogrens-...

hope this helpful

I have taken the med for over two and a half years and have detected no change in my thirst. I applaud your decision to consult with your medical professional, as hydration is vital.

I have been on the medication for over 8 years and have not experienced that symptom. I'm glad you are going to talk to your doctor about this as everyone is different.
