I had the Pfizer vaccine in January. I have Cirrhosis and my platelets are lower than normal but the vaccine had no effect on lowering them further. Best to check with your consultant if worried. Take care x

I don’t know why my platelet are elevated and higher than normal range.I’m also getting stressed about having covid vaccination because here in my region, there is only Russian vaccine which is not FDA approved yet.

Sona_akb...I wouldn’t worry too much unless your platelets continue to rise. Mine have always been normal but did rise above 400 at one point. They normalized. Mine usually stay in the 300’s.

I don’t believe the FDA will ever approve the Russian vaccine since US won’t be using it. US has only contracted to purchase pfizer, moderna, astraseneca, novavax and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Thus far, pfizer and moderna have been approved. J&J is the next to be approved.

Speak to your doctors and have them ease your concerns. I think all of us are a bit anxious about these vaccines no matter the brand/origin.
