Hi as PBC is classified as a chronic liver disease does anyone know if that means we will be offered the vaccine under level 6? Has anyone not meeting the other criteria been offered one ?

Thanks

Not sure where you are, but I’m in Texas. If we are 65 or older, we are eligible. And if you’re 18 or older with a chronic disease, eligible as well.

Deecass, your profile does not show which country you are from so it is difficult to say perhaps a call to your GP would give you an answer.

For myself I am in an age category and have had the first dose.

let us know what you find out

Hi Deecass

I have PBC & have had a liver transplant , but before my transplant i always got my flu jab because our immune system is compromised... so yes you are eligible for the covid vaccine under vunerability.

However i would give your GP a call because unfortunately some of us can slip through the vunerable net if we aren't registered as vunerable with the government this has been the case with alot of people on my transplant group & one call to their GP has recified this .

I had my 1st Jab on the 1st Feb .

Hope that helps .

Hi this is Denise, I had mine yesterday as I work at Walgreens and was offered my first dose as we had left over vaccines and no mire appointments. I feel fine. You should check with your pharmacy as they are probably doing the same thing. We have the modern a vaccine and it lasts for six hours after the vial is opened and then you must throw it away, so they don’t like to waste it . That’s why they’ve been offering the vaccine to people without an appointment.

Hi

I am in the UK and am 55 years old. I have been fortunate enough to have had the first dose of the vaccine as I was classified as a 'shielder' and placed in group 4 (I think) - the over 70s and 'critically extremely vulnerable' group. I think this was because I have been on immunosuppressants for PBC/AIH overlap.

Perhaps if you have not been called up yet is is because you are on the 'extremely vulnerable list' and possibly just on the PBC medications. I think those on that list are due to be called up pretty soon.

Good luck.

Jane

I’ve been offered one, i’m classed in level 6 due to PBC. I’m 36, and have no other medical conditions and am not morbidly obese so I can only presume it’s the PBC that has put me in this category.

It is the same as the flu jab, if you qualify for that you’ll get the COVID vaccine, I’ve had mine and my age group hasn’t been called up yet.

Hi, I’m from the UK. I’m only 29 but have PBC and have booked my vaccine using the NHS booking system. If you input your NHS number at the start, it will let you know if you are eligible for one yet. I haven’t had anything from the doctors but I’ve booked mine for 12th March

Hi there, yes, chronic liver disease should mean you'll be called up anytime now if you're in the UK. Had my first dose today; I have PBC.

I’m in Dublin, Ireland. Have PBC, asthma, osteoporosis and few other things.I’m 54. Haven’t heard anything yet about my jab. The roll out of vaccines here is very very slow.
