Covid vaccine side effects

Hi all.

I'm a nurse and will be getting my covid vaccine this week.

Some of my colleagues have had both vaccines and a lot were very ill after the 2nd one.

I'm recovering a bad sinusitis and more fatigued than usual. I'm worried how I'll react to the 2nd vaccine if well and healthy people are floored.

Have any of you had the vaccine and how did you feel.

Thank you. Nelly

I had mine on the 1st, had fever and aches (more than usual) headache and feeling absolutely exhausted. Like you I’m not sure what to expect from the second jab. I’m working on the assumption that being a reactor it’s working and doing a good job

Hi, I had my first vaccine ( Oxford ) on Feb 1st ....I felt a headache straight away and by the morning chills, feeling wiped ....took paracetamol , felt better the next day ...my nephew was working on the vaccine and he said it is good to have some side effects as your immune system kicking in ...I'm the same with the flu jab ......xx

I’am getting my 1st jab on Friday so a good question... those I know who’ve already had it reacted in different ways. The nurses in the family had the Pfizer one at the hospital and both had one day mild shivery feeling but nothing that stopped normal activity but, they have to wait the 12 weeks for there second here so I can’t help on the 2nd jab reaction.

My friend had (AZ Oxford) one and had no reactions except a sore arm, her husband did he had aches pains and shivery and spent one day in bed.

My partner had a headache and mild shivery feelings for about 12 hours nothing that stopped normal activity.

The flu jab gives me mild side effects so I’am expecting this one to as well , so prepared by booking it on Friday so I get the weekend to rest up . I tend to agree that if you get some side effects it’s your immune system responding so see it as a positive.

Hello, I am 73 years and had first Oxford jab and was a bit shivery and very tired the next day. I slept a lot and the following day was fine. I am due for second jab in 12 weeks. I expect to feel more side effects as my immune system recognises and reacts as it is supposed to. The PBC Foundation doctors have said there is no reason for most of us not to take the vaccines

Walk in the park!Had both shots. For me...super sore arm both times. That’s it. Took about two days to go away. I hope it’s worth it! I have my doubts!
