So I haven't been on here for a while but those who remember me I was on here to try and understand what my mother has as she had been diagnosed for two years with pbc stage 4. Recently, I have noticed that my mothers memory and just her function in her daily life has declined and I know others on this forum suffer from this same problem as I have read the posts. But I don't see much as a solution or anything really, to try and tackle on this memory issue. I appreciate all the answers in advance. Thank you

PBC and cognitive decline, need solutions?
I'm afraid I don't know the answers, but the best solution may be to talk to one of the trained advisors at the 'PBC Foundation' . There are links to talk to the PBC administrators, on the right of this comments column: see where it says 'Contact Us'. They are really helpful and trained, but I don't know if you will get anyone at weekends. Hope this helps.
Hi Rimeru.
Can we help?
There are two very distinct possibilities that are separate from each other.
One is what we call cognitive disfunction (brain fog) which can affect some with PBC, particularly those who have fatigue associated with their PBC.
The other is Hepatic Encephalopathy (HE) which is a condition in its own right. Associated with cirrhosis, HE is absolutely treatable.
If we can give any specific information, please do reach out to us directly.
Yours,
Robert.
