Hi
Any advice would be really appreciated .
I had my bloods done last week and liver has come back slightly elevated.
Also showed up that I was anemic and they wish to investigate further by doing a colonoscopy.
Is this common with PBC
TIA

I think a colonoscopy is standard procedure for anemia. I had anemia last summer and they wanted to do one. I somehow managed to escsape it. I had a hiatal hernia that was really bothering me and when they fixed it the anemia went away. They want to see if you are bleeding anywhere. They often want to do an endoscopy as well.

Thanks Pam
Yes they are also doing an endoscopy.
I’ve not can any symptoms of any bleeding or hernia...
In fact feeling quite well so a bit baffled that I’m anemic.
How did they fix your hiatal hernia? I had that diagnosis too, along with gastritis and esophageal ulcer, but all the doctor did was give me a PPI to take for a month and that was it.
I had to have surgery for it last Sept. The hernia had pushed up through my diaphram and was pushing on my stomach. It really hurt when I ate sometimes. I think when it hurt it caused my stomach to bleed. For the anemia I took iron pills plus vitamin C. I don't need to take it anymore.
Hi Kingy68, I don’t know if your the right age for menopause. But the whole time I was going threw it I was anemic and had to take iron . Now I’m through it it’s better.
