PBC and Pancreatic cancer link

Hi guys,i was diagnosed with pbc 3 years ago my older brother and sister have since been diagnosed with pbc also.

My brother gas now been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. My grandfather and first cousin died from pancreatic cancer and another cousin on the same side is fighting it atm.

What I want to know is if it is linked to PBC ?

Sorry to read of all the problems you and your family are facing at this time. Over the years I have never read of any link and do not have pancreatic cancer. Sending positive thoughts your way.

I'm sorry to hear of everyone's health issues. I wouldn't wish this on anybody. I haven't been told I have cancer but I have a cyst on my pancreas and told they'll check it when I do my routine testing for PBC every 6 months or sooner if needed

I haven’t heard of communication between pbc and pancreas. But it seems that pancreatic carcinoma runs inherited in your family and you can do screening check ups with a blood assay tumor marker named CA19-9 . Consult with your gastrointestinal specialist.

I' m afraid I don't know anything - myself - whichmight help you with this issue.

However, I would talk to the advisors at the 'PBC Foundation' who 'host' this site , here on the wider 'Health Unlocked' website.

See the links further up on the right, where there is a specific link to the 'PBC Foundation' site, as well as links to info they provide.

When I first understood I was at risk of PBC, I phoned them, and they were so helpful.

I have a cyst on my pancreas. It’s frightening but as typical my doctor said not to worry about it and it will be checked when I get my tests done. A year has gone by and the doctors office hasn’t asked for any tests. I sent an email about my worries and haven’t heard back from them. I’ll send another email asking to have the tests done again. Thanks for reminder.
