Several months ago, I noticed this noise. My description is if you go out on a summer night and hear locusts, not very loud. Wondering if anyone has experienced this. I have finally asked my Internist to refer me to an ENT Dr. Let me know.

😊
Sounds like tinnitus.
I agree as my husband suffers with tinnitus badly and I had it mildly but found it to get worse when I was over weight ! Weird I know ! However excess wax can also cause a similar sensation!,
Thank you! Hopefully I will have appt with ENT soon. 😊
Hopefully your appointment will arrive soon!
Take care
Trish
Thanks! Have a great day!😎
My noisy ears improved once the vitamin B12 which was prescribed for pernicious anaemia got into my system. Your description of the noise perfectly fits my experience.
Hope your specialist can find an answer for you
That's really interesting. I'm experiencing this right now as I write, and have, somewhat often, for years. Never enough to seek help but maybe it's a vitamin deficiency.
Hello! I was on another fb support group last year. Some of the ladies mentioned it. I’ve never said anything but I was curious. I have my thyroid checked tomorrow afternoon and I’m going to request they check b12. It’s been a year so I think it’s time. I’ve learned to deal with it but would like to know what it is exactly. 😊
I've had tinnitus for 50 years. We have to learn to ignore it. More noticeable when it's quiet in the room. Mine is extremely loud at the moment.
The problem is, if someone doesn’t talk in normal tone, I have to ask them to repeat. Normal tones, I hear just fine. Embarrassing 😐
My husband and his brother both 70 and 72 have had it for around a similar you ! Hubby gets it very loud at times which drive him nuts but like you said you learn to cope with it which he does.
I’ve had tinnitus for many years and notice that it’s worse when my fatigue is worse. I also have some hearing loss so got hearing aids with a tinnitus masker- I’m not crazy about wearing them, but they do help the tinnitus and the hearing problems. Fortunately my insurance paid most of the cost; I’ll be 65 in October and on Medicare- don’t think it pays for hearing aids which is odd to me.
I also had buzzing, ended up being TMJ. My Primary Care and dentist both diagnosed it within the same week. Wearing a retainer at night caused the jaw to relax, and the noise went away.
