Itchy ears

This is a bit random, but has anyone else experienced a deep itch in the ears? I have had it in both ears for a couple of weeks.

Must be allergies.i get them as well mostly in fall season !

Nope unless yours is different ! Try antihistamine!

Yes and it turned out to be an outer ear infection. Mine got wet as well. Antibiotics fixed it and I now put a tiny amount of moisturiser on my outer ear. Hope this helps.

Hi Itchy ears

I have had itchy ears but never associated with PBC UNTIL RECENTLY. I KOW I HAVE READ OTHER POSTS EITHER ON THIS SITE OR ANOTHER ONE.

HAVE A GOOD SEARCH I WOULD BE ALMOST CERTAIN THIS IS RELATED TO PBC

There are some of us PBC sufferers that get dry eyes and mouth, I also get itchy ears (inside) as a result of this dryness. Have you tried a few drops of olive oil or mineral oil to moisten the skin within the ear. I have to do this and use a nasal rinse for the severity of the dryness.

Some PBCers are diagnosed with Sjögren's syndrome I was told I had it a few years ago then just recently some further testing came back negative but I still have the dry eyes, mouth, ears nose and throat.

So it may be worth a try.

I have had itchy ears for many years and i have had all kinds of ear drops from the dr but they dont do much they still itch.

Hi I to have itchy ears ( inside ) have had it for about 1 year but was only diagnosed in May with pbc . I know people have different opinions but I definitely say yes it Is pbc related . It's not an ear infection as I have been checked it's just itchy all the time mostly night time I find . Hope this helps

When mine get itchy I use vase line. Now on meds for overall itch and have not had itchy ears since but it may be worth getting it checked out. I have learned recently to my cost that not everything is down to my auto immune diseases.

I went to ENT md.... said 2 reasons ears can itch... fungal infection or dryness/allergies. Said to put a few drops only..... not much... of olive oil or mineral oil to soothe itching. Can't believe it but it worked... I used olive oil as I had it on hand

You have to make sure its fungal.... see a md .... a fungal infection in the ears could be very dangerous

I get only one ear that itches; my left.. Also, when I wake up everyday, that same ear is wet inside, with like water and i have the itching! No one can explain to me why this is. I tend to clear my throat very hard to scratch the ear itch or just use a Qtip.. lol.. It makes me crazy! I too think its PBC related.

Has the inside of you mouth ever itch? I have a lot of trouble with my lips itching!

No not yet. Is it the disease that causes itching or the drugs?

Yes on off and it’s maddening. I attribute it to the PBC. Otolaryngologists couldn’t find anything wrong. A bit of castor oil on a Q-Tip and swiping inside of ears but not to deep helps me immensely!
