Good morning....A couple of months ago I finally jumped off the fence I've been sitting on for a few years. Every three weeks I was faced with the dilemma of "to color or not". I knew before that even the so called safe hair dyes were probably a problem, plus, the color seems to fall out or not cover my grays. Then I read an article from the UK that actually linked hair dye to PBC. I was done. I spoke with my hairdresser and we made an appointment 2 months out! Have to wait the long so she can see where my gray lives. We are starting a silver highlights transition in 2 more weeks. funny thing is that I'm feeling such a freedom now. My hair is happier and I'm not so concerned of what all those strangers in the world think. I googles images of gray hair transition with silver highlights and it's beautiful. I have curly hair, so threw that into the search too. So, I'm highly inspired on this journey. Remember to have your hairdresser take before and after photos.

Be well

I tried to copy the link for you, but failed. It was entitled "Is Your Hair Dye Causing a Progressive and Fatal Liver Disease. If you click on my profile and go to "Time to Transition", you will find the link there. Let me know if you are able to find it

Thought you may like to read this one, I am not going to comment, I’ll let you make up your own mind , but I will point out this was 2010. I still use hair dye and make up. The second link is the one that mrspeffer mentions.

Glad you signposted to it, I was looking for it a couple of weeks ago as it mentioned a list of products and I wanted to see what it said about each of them.

I'd never even thought about makeup having an affect!

I've stopped dyeing my hair after 27 years of frequently changing it's colour due to reading one of those articles but I don't think I'm quite ready to swear off of makeup!

Good choice! I love my highlights. I only do it once a year & always get compliments.

I'm pleased for you that you have decided what you will do. It sounds a good plan. And thank you for inviting us to throw in our opinions to help you decide!
