Hello everyone! I am a 40 yr old woman with 2 children under 5 and despite my best efforts I am freaking out a bit!
Brief background - I had Graves as a child then Hashimotos in my teens, currently on levothyroxine. About 9 years ago I had muscle aches etc and they ran some autoimmune tests and I came back positive with anti Ro, most commonly associated with Sjogrens. Just a few weeks ago I came down with an itchy bumpy rash all over my legs and arms, this has since responded to topical steroids. My GP ran a bunch of blood work and all liver, blood, renal tests came back normal but my anti ro was still weak positive and I came back with AMA m2 of 33 (normal range 0-5).
I am being referred for an ultrasound but having gone on Google I am now scared. I have read that Sjogrens patients can test positive for AMA but what I can’t understand is if it’s because they also have PBC or if Sjogrens itself can cause positive AMA?!?!?!
Does anyone have any insight into this? I would be greatly appreciative for any and all feedback.
