I have tested positive for AMA, ANA, SMA, and my ALT/AST are both high. I have had a biopsy done, however, the biopsy came back negative even with a second opinion from a Boston hospital. My Gastro has said they think I may have PBC but they want to wait and see if my ALT/AST improve, my next appointment is in October, should I go to Boston and get a second opinion or is my Gastro right to wait and see if things change?

I would actually get a second opinion, just to be on the safe side. I was diagnosed in 2012 at stage 2 but was told I had a different liver disease in my early twenties, which I was put through a six month treatment program that made me extremely sick. Then finally in my thirties I found out my actual problem was PBC. I've had different doctors who have said the same. Finally, everything made sense. All of my issues I've had from my early adult years fall into place with the symptoms of PBC. Good luck with everything.
I also had all the positive blood tests and negative biopsy and even the send out for pbc came back negative but I had 2 out of 3 positive ... meaning AMA and enzymes positives so just started me on urso anyway and my enzymes came down including the climbing bilirubin....so it's up to your md but they should start it soon. Mine did have me wait one month and repeat labs and then started urso
