Hi all was diagnosed in January this year have an appointment with consultant which I will get all my results from my scans. Was just wondering I take omega 3 and a dialy multi vitamin and bladderwrack tablets. Does anybody know if I should stop taking any of these. 🤔

The hepatolagist told me to take a good multi vitamim so I think you are okay on that one. I don't know aabout the bladderwrack tablets.

You are okay on taking omega 3. I take fish oil capsules for omega 3. Not sure about bladderwrack tablets.

My hepatologist is aware of what vitamins I take. I also take a multi & we added calcium & vitamin D since my diagnosis.

Thank you for your reply I also take Cider vinegar, when you have taken things for years you forget that this item might now affect me the wrong way.

You should write down a list of everything you take & let your consultant know. He/She will be able to guide you.

My hepatologist usually reviews everything I take when I see him. We reviewed it together what is in the electronic charts & update as needed.

I don’t take apple vinegar as a supplement but I do use it to cook & in salad dressing.

Ok thank you I will do as you suggested. I have only seen my consultant once and she wasn't very good at explaining things to me I have no idea of any of the levels I read people talk about. Basically she ordered three scans which I have had done told me I had pbc told me it was not curable but can be controlled prescribed urso and sent me on my way. Like most I googled it went into shock as what I read was very disturbing I have no symptoms whatsoever went to doctors for something very minor. Then I found this forum which has been a god send hearing how real people are still living with pbc. Thank you for your advice.

Before your appointment, make a list of your most important questions and have the consultant address them. I set the tone of my appointments with an agenda. Since my doctor and I communicate via a patient portal, I send my agenda and questions 2-3 days in advance. He appreciates it.

Good Luck.
