pbc and vitamins
That is something you should discuss with your dr. My hepatologist is ok with me taking a multivitamin with no iron.
Best to get your doctor’s input. My hepatologist is ok with me taking a multi vitamin, fish oil, calcium & vitamin D (he was the one who tested me for D deficiency & told me to take it.)
I think I really only need the calcium & vitamin D. I take the multi vitamin & fish oil just as insurance. Basically I think I eat well enough not to need it, but take them just in case. Cover all the bases.
Check with your doctor
Vitamin D3/calcium, omega 3 and B12 all which my gp told me to buy..D3 prescribed by gp .
my GI dr. told me to take a Flintstones gummie complete for children because they are mild and it would be less stressful on the liver we do need a vit because we have PBC and we don't get the vitamins from our dood like someone would that don't have PBC.
Get a blood test to check if you need any first, then if the results show up where you are deficient you can ask which are the best. I showed low Vitamin D on my last test, my aches after just 2 weeks have gone already.
