Yes I do as vitamin Bs and D are water soluble they get absorbed that well , I take a high dose of vitamin D and energy release vitamins from Aldi with the vitamin B complex’s it’s works for me

I hope you feel better soon

When I was diagnosed 12 years ago my consultant said to me " Make sure you take Omega 3 supplements ( not omega 6 ) " , I have no idea why but I've taken a Boots maximum strength Omega 3 every day since . I also take a multivitamin .

Hi

I take Centrum 50+ and Cod liver oil with glucosamine - not specifically for PBC just so I’m not missing anything - although I try to eat a healthy varied diet including 30 different plants per week for healthy gut biome

I take a daily Proven 50+ tablet which is a multi vitamin as well as a probiotic for the over 50s which I source from Bodykind in the UK.

you may like to take a look at the following link Ask the Experts Roundatable on PBC from 1/30/18, about 35 minutes into the talk a doctor gives a good explanation.

I’m in compensated cirrhosis. I have some mal-absorption, so i take Centrum silver although I’m not in the age group for it. I also take Calcium +D3.

I was directed to take them by my hepatologist.

Hi

I have just bought these, don’t they contain calcium??

I take One A Day for 50+ with no iron. I take an extra vitamin D3. All approved by my hepatologist.

Hi if you don’t mind me asking why do you get vitamins without iron xx

Sure. My iron levels are always normal. We do not want or need an excessive iron build up in our liver. That is one thing I’ve noticed in both biopsy reports “no iron build up”. I’m older and don’t need all the extra iron. I was told as we age we use less iron.

I was recommended from my gastroenterologist to take calcium magnesium and d3.

I have anemia and not sure this is doing anything and I sometimes miss them because you can’t take them same time as the ursodiol.

Hi Hope you don’t mind me asking but why can’t you take them at the same time as urso xx

The calcium binds with many medications and makes them less effective so it is often advised to take calcium or a multivitamin with calcium 2 hours before or after other medications. The research that I have seen doesn't list URSO as a specific medication that competes with the calcium but since the URSO is so important in our treatment I think its safe to say that it might be best to take separately IF possible.

kinda the same as different medications. One will make the other in affective So I have to wait a couple of hours at least in between ursodiol and the vitamins for both to work to their full potential

I was low on vitamin D and I take a D3 daily, 2000mg. My doctor suggested it.

And I also take calcium caltrate and alaskan salmon fish oil.

Yes, my hepatologist says in general space my vitamins and meds at least 2 hours apart.

I was reading about the Alaskan salmon fish oil. Do you order it or is there a particular brand?
