Abdominal Cramp Pain

Hi just wondering if anyone taking Urso has had any effects such as severe cramp/nausea and sweating half hour after eating. I’ve been on Urso since start of Feb 19. Possibly a coincidence but worrying. Thanks

Hello - sorry to hear you have been experiencing tummy problems. I used to get cramping pain and diarrhoea which was put down to PBC so I carried on. Then my daughter bought me a book about the bad effects of gluten so I cut it out. The improvement was dramatic. In 2 days I felt normal. Investigations showed coeliac disease and I am now gluten free. Coeliac is another autoimmune. Try cutting gluten and see if you are better - if not it may be something else. Good luck i hope you feel better soon. Do let us know ☺

Thank you, I wasn’t sure if it was food or drug related. I’ll try a gluten free diet to see if it helps. Much appreciated Jane x

Hi ,I started Urso in January and some days I get intense cramps but not necessarily right after I take it ,I mention Ned it to the pharmacist and she said drink more water with it I have increased my water intake and it has made a difference .....it’s like a sudden bloating or gas ball when I get it but the water seems to keep it at bay x

Ye that’s much same as I’ve been getting, my appetite is poor but just having snacks throughout the day. It seems to happen about half hour after eating. I’ll persevere and try new diet, thanks xx

Hi P13jne that sounds uncomfortable, sorry you're having this issue. Unlikely to be Urso I think. Does it vary with what you eat? I suggest you start a food diary in case something (as suggested) is a specific trigger. But half an hour suggests stomach itself, as food probably hasn't reached gut yet. I'd suggest seeing a doctor to check for acid-related problems like reflux, ulcer or other condition. Best wishes, hope you feel better soon!

Thank you Skypony, I’m still having issues so I’m going to see doc. Could be something completely different. Jane x

It sounds scary for you as well. The sweating would definitely take me to medical help if it was heavier than just a glow the sort you may have with spiced food or such. You may not find an answer as to why it happened but at least you can rule out or deal with any thing else that might need attention. Stay calm. Do what you need to do. Trust your judgement fully as you decide what to do about the symptoms. Best wishes, let us know how you go forward :-)

When I first started taking Urso it made me feel very sick but I now make sure I have eaten first and then take Urso with a large glass of water and I’m now ok. Hope you get to the bottom of this. Alison
