Hi Janine, have you been diagnosed with PBC or still in early stages of diagnosis?
I was diagnosed last year and now on Urso. My situation was slightly different as I went for a routine scan following abnormal blood tests and they suspected cancer so I went for CT, MRI, Nuclear scans and several biopsies followed by a surgical biopsy. All of it was fine, slightly daunting but it's pretty routine for the staff.
Where are you based? Is the consultant a liver specialist?
I have taken great comfort from the PBC info on this site that says for most of us it will be a well managed condition.
Take care
Hi
Ive already had a pbc for 3 years. But sudenly my bliids have risen. They are testing for auto imune hep now.
Ive been reffered to a liver specialist at another hospital
I was under a consultant.
Hi Janine I am in the same situation,
I have been newly diagnosed with
PBC and autoimmune disease my ALT levels are 1300 , I went to doctors with stress and had some blood tests and they came back with raised ALT , GGT levels . Back in October, I am now under kings college hospital, Monday I had blood tests and a fibro scan and will have a biopsy at a later dates ,, I am now on Urso and fatigue is getting better, I don’t feel so tired ,
Take care
Hi don't panic, there are of reasons this could have happened.
1: the lab could have made a mistake, what you had eaten the day before, have you been taking antibiotics, painkillers etc.
I'm sure you'll be fine, my test are like that all the time.
Relax and enjoy life, be positive, mind over matter, people survive with last stages of disease with positive thinking.
Sit down close your eyes, and listen to soft music and imagine your liver and gently wipe off any mark you see.
Have a good weekend.
Thank you it’s been a shock I have suffering from fatigue for months struggling with work, it’s actually relief that there’s a reason I have felt so tired,
Roz😀
