I tried it. By tea time on day 1 I had terrible vomiting and diarrhoea!

Oh dear...you have to go SLOW with a cleanse. I have done several cleanses over the years, and funny, I just started a new one this week. It's really easy. Start with one or two Tablespoons of lemon in a small glass of water daily. Increase lemon amount about every 5 days. Years ago when I was new to this PBC deal, I did Dr. Schutze's Incurable Disease Cleanse. Intense, involved, 30 days of juicing, liver flushes, hot/cold showers, and the famed "detox" bath. Felt miserable at times during it, but like a million bucks after. But the one thing that helps all cleanses is to drink a daily detox tea for about a week before you start. The tea is readily purchased at health food stores or online. It is called "Daily Detox Tea". IT can be ingested everyday forever if you please....so can the lemon drinks. Cleaning out the liver helps our bodies rid out the bad stuff. Then the extra toxins do not spill into the blood and out onto our skin...Dark spots ???? do the lemon drink, I promise success if you just go SLOW...best of luck

Yes, I realised it was too fast afterwards. Makes you wonder though, anybody would have thought that I was a heroin addict in withdrawal. All the rubbish in our bodies we may as well be!!

I had that same thought when I did my detox the first time.. way too fast and crawling to the bathroom. For us, slow on every supplement, etc. Is vital. Breathe and be happy

Would recommend you very much proceed with caution. My understanding is that they are not recommended for us. You should definitely take your specialist’s advice before proceeding.

With you there, Lisa. I would go further and say that all I have read and seen recently about detox and cleanses indicates that they are a totally unnecessary, and could potentially be harmful. Sorry, folks!

I agree. I have a friend, who is healthy & she does the patches on her feet at night for liver detox. Asked if I might want to try it. I said “no way”! What some people don’t under is detox will not fix a sick liver. Not to my knowing anyway.

Although a detox will not "fix" a sick liver, it will allow the liver to rest for awhile as it releases stored build up of gunk. When the liver is cleaner, it can more readily absorb nutrients with less spilling into the blood stream. Are you seeing an increase of hyper-pigmentation on your skin? that is a sigh of the livers inability to process thoroughly and is spilling into the blood. This also is manifested in toxins being released which makes us feel worse. What i love about this website is that we can intelligently discuss our experiences with others who are going through similar issues.

Happy Saturday

Yes, I understand all about how the liver works. Thank you.

As you know, there are plenty of natural & safer ways to help detox. Fresh lemon is one of them. I use in my water every day. But they do say the most benefit comes from lemon peel itself. And there are plenty veggies that have detox properties. 😊

It worked for me, dropped my liver levels to normal after having high liver enzymes for years, doctors said it was garbage and won’t do nothing or work in any way but it did and feeling much better not tired or energy drained even my skin changed feels smoother and healthier since I also take vitamin e but just make sure they are natural.
