Hi all. Was referred to s hepatologist few weeks ago as ANA positive and M2 raised again after only few months. GGT raised also. Hepatologist wrote back to my GP to say that there is no need to see her as my Alk Phos is grand and LFT's. Repeat annually and watch All Phos. I'm happy enough with this but still get sore on my left side etc. Any one else got raised ANA and M2 but no diagnosis?

Hi you can always get a second opinion, PBC you have positive AMA and raised liver labs so if you dont feel comfortable with their decision seek a second opinion. To diagnose here gold standard is AMA positive , liver biopsy positive, and raised liver labs but everyplace seems to have their own protocol, i am at U Of M. You can have a positive ANA and have no disease process. So seek a second opinion if you are not comfortable, do you have any symptoms of PBC?

Thank so very much for your reply. I get a very sore right side when I eat unhealthy foods. I take Nux Vomica homeopathy remedy and it helps. Bug yeah my right side is sore all the time. My LFT are not raised but I guess I need to watch my diet more. I am normally very careful but it is Christmas!! Thanks again for the advice.

Did you have AMA done? Did you have Liver biopsy done?

No I didn't have biopsy done as Hepatologist felt there was no need to see me just based on raised AMA's . So she will only see me if my Alk Phos rises.

I’ve heard there are some people who have PBC and never get elevated ALP, even in end stage. They may be small in number. I’m just not sure. Please read this it may help... bmjopengastro.bmj.com/conte...
