Do your bones hurt?

I don't know if I'm describing it right or calling it the right thing, but my bones are hurting if I touch them on something. It is mostly my hands, feet, arms. It is intermittent though... sometimes it is severe. Sometimes it does not bother me at all.

For example the bottom of my palm will cause me excruciating pain if I touch those bones against something like a shopping cart handle. Or today I went to put my seatbelt on and the buckle ran across the tops of two of my fingers and I'm almost in tears in the parking lot. Or, I'm short so sometimes my jeans are too long and if the hem gets under the sole of my foot while I'm walking, that pain is enough to take my breath away.

My husband thinks it is like achy bones due to the change of seasons but this is new to me and I'm curious if it happens to anyone else

Have not experienced that. Did it just start?

Yes, probably about 2 weeks ago. It happens maybe once or twice a day that I hit a bone on something or maybe even once every two days. It is not constant but it is very painful when it happens.

Hmm...maybe you should talk to your dr. I’m sure you’ve considered that. I’ve not noticed mine aching or being painful. I need to have a bone density test. I’m small & im sure I don’t get enough calcium. I’m trying to be good & get back on vitamins. Definitely need to bring calcium back into my daily regimen. I do hope the bones feel better soon. That’s no fun. Stay in touch❣️

Hi , my bones hurt too , luckily not as severe as yrs anymore as my consultant has me on ADCAL which is a combination of Vit D and Calcium I'm am deficient in both my liver struggles to absorb Vit D , I also have a bone density scan each year this is also to check for osteoporosis which is something we are more open to develop with PBC , I have arthritis in both knees , hands and feet and have had operations on both knees which has really helped as the pain was unbearable ,as far as I'm aware it's standard procedure to check these levels , it is with my consultant my dosage is 750mg/200 I.U. ADCAL - D3 , so definitely look into this .

Best wishes x

I agree with Vicary. My bones hurt daily when it touches anything trying to open a lid, carrying things or if I bump into anything like the end of the table. It's very painful for me. I have this experience for nearly 3 yrs. the dr said it's lack of calcium of vitamin A and d. He suggest centrum for 50 or older because the have more vitamin a,k, e and d then normal adult woman. I'm only 38yrs old taking 50 plus but it's been helping with it according to my bloodwork

Hang in there. I know for me when my legs feel like it's aching I lay down and stretch it and that's helps me

Feel better

Thank you all for the input! I am deficient in both calcium and Vitamin D according to my bloodwork. I was advised to take Calcium/D3 daily which I am doing, but maybe it is not enough. I do take a regular women's one a day multivitamin but I'll but the 50+ one next. I have a Dr appointment coming up and I will mention it to him.

I feel better just knowing this could be related to something I already know is going on.

Thanks again! I hope you guys feel better too!

Funny, just thinking of going to the doctor, when your question popped up! I'm sitting here with sore bones, all over - I did do some exercises yesterday but wondering how that would affect my hands - they are sore and hot, some of my knuckles are getting fat and my hands feel stiff. I have Sjogrens and pbc and its probably connected to one of those but I'm only on Urso medication. Does anyone else take medication for sore joints? I have felt like this before and its like a flare-up because I cant do anything while I hurt. Big hug from Ireland, Kandiepat

That's called inflammation sometimes caused by exercise and many times caused by foods such as coffee. Meats. Eggs cheese dairy..bread and many more foods cause inflammation when we have a sensitive immune system

Thankyou for reminding me! I used to watch my diet but I've slipped into the old routine lately. I will start afresh tomorrow 😀

Yes I get that too. Pain management dr was able to help. Years ago when they weren't familiar with the disease I was mis-diagnosed with fibromyalgia.
