Something different has been happening in this last week...I drink a lot of water, my urine is always clear...
In this past week, when I wake up around 2:30ish am and go potty...my urine in orange...sometimes like a neon orange...
At first I didn't think much of it as I said I drink lots of water and my daytime urine is clear...the second night I thought it was the water...which I know is silly since it only happens in the early am...
Is it Bilirubin? Why is it only during that one timeframe? I know our livers work really hard when we sleep to remove toxins...
Anyone else had this issue and talked to their doctor about it? I hate bothering my doc with this stuff when she has patients in her office that need her attention...π
I'm not hurting when I go...my side has started hurting again...but no sharp pain just the dull ache...
Oh, I have added a few slices of pickled beets to my daily salad since I know beets are good for the liver... but the color is not a red/orange but literally a neon orange... a few more shades and it would prolly glow...lol

My urine has been Brown, orange or neon yellow for the past year despite any amount of water and I drink tons of water. My bilirubin is also elevated. I'm newly diagnosed as PBC/AIH overlap syndrome & started meds within. The past month which seem to be helping.
Anyway, as this is new to you, this is something I would mention to your doctor.
My jaundice is starting to lighten and so is my urine so I believe they were related.
Well as I always say, best to see your Dr. But for info. I go potty as you call it. Every 2 hours even through the night. I drink lots even at night & mine is often dark orange. My doc says it's dehidration even though I'm drinking lots. & My bilubrin is normal xx
No beets yesterday and no neon orange urine at 2am...π I've eaten beets before and this never happened but I was not on Urso so may be a reaction there...will see how it goes tonight and update...
Beets will definitely do it! Are you eating the beets at night? I remember this from a few years ago when I had blood in my urine from a kidney stone. Before I went to the doctor, I was looking for reasons why my urine would look red and beets was right up there on the top of the list. Try not eating beets for a couple of days and see if it clears up - and then eat some again just to be sure.
Hello, been following your posts. You have such a good attitude and it goes with your pretty smile in your picture. You seem upbeat and it's refreshing cause let's face it, this PBC thing can be scary.
I'm piping in because you said you are trying to do the very best you can not to get into stage 4. Well.... as kids say... and you can say it to me if you want... "Your not the boss of me." lol, But, pickled anything is loaded with sodium. Beets are good for the liver. Pickled beets may not be. Jennyhadenough was correct when she ran off what not to eat. My hepatologist said the same thing. Diet most definitely can have a good effect on our compromised livers. I Googled liver friendly foods and foods to stay away from if your liver is sick. I love to cook and eat. It's sad.... I miss eating whatever I want but, when I mess up.. Boy does my liver let me know it.
On the first note what you have been doing all these days continue doing the same I mean keep consuming plenty of water and juices.
Every day morning empty stomach take 1 tea spoon of turmeric powder mixed in luke warm water will help curing all kind of toxins getting accumulated in the body.
Over time can take neem extract of about 20 ml twice a day morning and night before bed. Would work well for all kind of liver, kidney stomach and pancreas related issues. If you make this a habit m sure you won't need any medicines until and unless required.
Do post our comments for the well being of all other. I take everyday and my dad too takes. It helped him controlled his sugar level and kidney related issues.
Ok, been 4 days no beets...no neon orange pee..lol so I guess it was the beets...π. I do realize that commercial beets are loaded with sodium and I do need to ask to see the container...however!!! I did manage to can my own pickled beets this past summer..π. No salt in mine so Iβm going to dig a jar out of my stash and eat some to see if mine turns my pee to neon orange...
thank you for your kind words Stelia, I try to keep a positive attitude about life in general...this disease Iβm determined to live with and survive...however I realize that Iβm very lucky that URSO is working for me...π»
