Janine541 I'm sorry. Mine went up too. I'm concerned about taking my immune suppressant meds next week.

Hi what were your levels do you know. I am so scared of taking immunosuppressants I know there are several types available but it's the thought of what it does to your body

Hi janine541; I'm in the USA-- when you say 'consultant', who is that? If he/she is a liver doctor, why would they refer you to another doctor for elevated liver test results? Did they not tell you why they didn't want to handle the situation? And why your GP would be a better choice? Perhaps you could ask ( one of these) doctors why an elevation in certain blood values is of concern & why certain doctors are considered more appropriate to handle certain indicators. I've been directed to go to various other doctors ( specialists) to handle some health issues, e.g. Swollen parotid gland, reg doctor will give me an antibiotic & tell me to follow up with ENT doctor, chest discomfort from my psoriatic arthritis usually gets a cardiologist involved, etc. Sometimes there might be a boundary of sorts that the doctors respect & they might not explain themselves properly when they refer you on. Be sure to ask the doctor referring you & ask the doctor you directed to see, why the referral? Hope you get some answers!

Well I hope you see a doctor soon-- any infection needs to be dealt with expediously. ( ask the doctor who does treat this infection, why the other doctor didn't treat it.)

Also, if it is a chronic infection , find out the protocol to follow in future.
