Hello jordan6.

I'd read the Patient Info Leaflet that comes with this Sudafed nasal spray and if you are in any doubt ring the pharmacy and ask there. You could also ring your local GP surgery and ask if you can speak to a GP. If one not available when you ring I am sure the receptionist will pass on the message for a GP to ring you.

I somehow don't think it would be a problem but I'm no medic but with PBC it is apparently OK for most medications unless you are at a later stage with PBC.

Smelling Salts are good for catarrh and head colds. You can buy the tiny bottles cheaply from the chemist. That is ammonia and I have to say very strong.

netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/e...

This article on net doctor indicates that:-

As the medicine causes the blood vessels in the nose to contract, it minimises the amount of medicine that is absorbed into the bloodstream from the nose. This means that the nasal spray has a relatively local effect in the nose and is unlikely to have side effects on other parts of the body

It would seem that it may be quite a useful medication for you but perhaps if you are going to a pharmacy to buy it then a word with the pharmacist might be prudent.

Whilst you are feeling poorly it might be a good idea to increase your water intake if you are not much of a water drinker. Personally I like my tea and do not drink enough water.

Hope you are soon feeling better

Normally my sinuses are a nightmare everytime I get a cold, but this time I used a seawater spray up the nose before bed and in the morning. First time that my cold was over in three days and didnt go to my sinuses and then onto my chest. Hope this info will help.
