Hi
Had PBC for years, having a constant niggle just lately in the ribs, like a stitch. Anyone else having this and did you bother to go to the GP? Really don't want to go to doctors with it, scared of the outcome.
Thanks.

I think this is quite a common symptom of pbc. My discomfort is usually in the back on the right. Worth mentioning to your doctor though. Good luck
Hi I've only been diagnosed with Pbc for about 6 months. But have always had the constant aching in my right side. All the leaflets & print outs info I was given mention about the ache in your right side x
Yes, this is common. I have had that ache for years. It has gotten better on URSO and it worsens when I eat things I shouldn't or get overly tired. The ache is the main reason I kept after the testing. It also would ache if I would take too many over the counter pain meds.
Does it hurt when you inhale? I have this and have been told it's costochondritis which is inflammation of the cartilage on the costo ribs. (sternum) It's worth checking, Good luck x
Thanks for your replies. It's sort of good to know that it's a common problem with PBC and that others have experienced it.
I think I'll leave well alone for now, don't want any more biopsies!
Cheers
Maybe due to fatty liver?? The liver enlarges and causes pressure on the rib cage. Always best to see your gp, u will worry anyway which only cause more stress and symptoms. I have suffered with niggling pain for years, but I have had many scans for various things and nothing serious has shown up.
