Has anyone tried vitamin B injections for fatigue? And if so, any difference in energy level?

First I tried the sublingual that you buy at the pharmacy but it didn't seem to help so my dr suggested the shots and so far no luck with me but everyone is different and you might respond to it. We have been trying all kinds of things since I ended up having to come out of work due to the fatigue. You can always try the OTC first to see if that helps. Maybe you will find something. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I've taken the otc on and off for years even before dx, never saw a difference. I remember way back when, I took the injections while I was working with a nutritionist, way before diagnosis, and if I recall I had a lot of energy. My fatigue isn't that bad, just hit a wall around mid-afternoon, most likely due to terrible sleep pattern. What worries me now is the post about Urso not working after so many years, I've been on it for almost 7. Definitely see a difference in my joints and muscles but can be due to age, meds, and extra pounds I carry. Always something to worry about!!

I also have that horrible sleep pattern no more than 4 hours ever. Lol I think I could stay up for 3 days and still only sleep 4 hours. I saw that about the URSO might stop after so long. I hate that. I hope it's not the case. URSO unfortunately doesn't work for me hit stage 4 before they figured it out but that is a wonder drug for others. You have been on it for 7 years and it's still working so just like this disease in everyone is different the URSO reacts different too.

NB for sleeplessness. I've said this before on here, but I apologise if it is inappropriate for use with URSO or other medication ... plus my GP didn't think it a problem with PBC - although I only have AMAs, no symptoms or blood/ltf, etc problems.

But, I had amitryptilene for a while for sleeplessness due to very bad hot flushes during the night, during the early years of the perimenopause.

Amitryptilene is/was originally an antidepressant, but is hardly used for that now. However, it is now used a lot for migraine, insomnia and fibromyalgia. The anti-dep doses started at about 40mg (and went up and up!!) but I was given 10mg tablets, and my GP told me to break them into as small a dose as worked best - so I was taking about 1/3 of a tablet and sleeping really well, with no bad effects.

Might be worth investigating, it's not addictive and these really are tiny doses.

We have been trying different antidepressant but I don't think that is one of them so I will suggest it. Maybe it will work. Wish me luck.
