Have a very sore mouth and tongue. Have tried lots of different remedies, including OraMoist tablets, but can find no relief and it is becoming a major issue. Has any one found any answers please?

Have you tried gargling with salt at intervals Sweet1pea?

Also eating/drinking certain things that are not too acidic or salty.

Hope you recover soon.

Thank you Peridot. I have been gargling with salt for the past 24 hours and there is already a marked improvement :) I am also drinking cyder vinegar mixed in a glass of water three times a day and as this is supposed to be helpful for immune conditions. Feeling a lot more positive now my mouth is not so sore.

Glad you seem to be tackling the problem and I hope you get a good result.

I only thought of salt as back in the mid-1980s I wsa informed by the midwife and hospital nurses on leaving hospital with my new baby if I had had any stitches then a salt bath would be the ideal thing to heal it. Yes I did use salt in the bath. I still use a bit in a dish of water today if I have any rubs or small sores beneath my feet (I do a lot of walking).

I used cider vinegar in the bath as I did read it was good for allsorts but I never really felt the difference with the itch I have to say as that I wsa hoping to alleviate more.

So sorry you are going through that. I use the biotine oral mouth rinse about 6 or 7 times a day to help with dry mouth. I have to be careful cause as soon as it starts getting dry I start chewing on the inside of my checks and gums. So to save me from some sores I keep a bottle in my purse and a bottle at home so it's always available. Do you have the dry eyes also? It would be good to keep some eye moisturizer around too. Good luck.

I have used biotin toothpaste and gel but not tried the oral mouth rinse. Will certainly try this! Thanks for your help.

I buy natural toothpastes, my current one is aloe vera that is pretty good.

I did buy one called Neem in the supermarket on the Asian section and that is pretty good tastewise as it lingers for several hours after using. I discovered that neem is a plant.

I personally do not go in for the commercial mouthwashes that we see advertised a lot on tv due to the fact that they are actually full of chemics and also some can contain alcohol.

Has anyone tried Pilocarpine or Cevimeline tablets for helping with dry mouth syndrome? They appear to be used with some success in the USA but are not licensed for use in UK because there have been no clinical trials.
