Blood Test
Well the only blood test there I can think of is one that one would have if female and pregnant. That's alpha-fetoprotein. Not sure about the one you mention here.
The GGT is a blood test that can give a picture of how the liver could be but some of the LFTs are done on calculations from readings as in mathematical deductions apparently.
Unfortunately for me, I am not a daytime itcher so this current English hot sunny weather isn't actually making difference except for soaking in the rays for Vit D manufacture. I'm a nighttime itcher and due to this hot weather and feeling sticky all the time, I am finding that I am pretty uncomfortable and still itching at night. Last night was the first night in about 14 days that I did go to bed, drop off to sleep (just before midnight) and didn't wake up until gone 4a.m., to then fall back asleep and wake at 6a.m. Best night had in a long time as the slight itch I was feeling at 11p.m. I slept through and this morning no itch as normal.
I was reading a short article yest on insomnia as I know that is part of my problem. I am perimenopausal at present (I am 49) so that probably has some bearing on the nighttime as well as the itching, not such a great combination at all. The article was stating to try to make sure no caffeine is drank for several hours prior to going to bed. I have switched to red tea again which I do like. Also to have a snack prior to bed just in case it is sugar levels that are part of it as can be. Yesterday I tried for the first time so maybe I got lucky last night or it was just coincidence but I'll give it a go and see.
alpha feta protein is also used to screen for certain cancers.
