I'm using what was the easiest option at the time i sarted 1yr and 9 months ago - agelessrx for $75 per month for methylcobalimin,
I need to cut my expenses. I saw Amazon has a few types of cobalimin in different forms but not methycobalamin. The cost is like $1 to $4, haven't really researched vial size or dose for that price but no matter what it would be a fraction of the price I'm paying.
I searched the form and saw a lot of recomendations especially from Germany, but from what I looked up they also don't sell methylcobalamin. I didn't see many recommendations on the forum about where to get methylcobalamin.
So my question are, is it worth the savings and risk to switch from methylcobalamin to another form, will it affect me? I've been doing really good on the methyl
Other question, where to buy lower cost methylcobalamin from a reputable pharmacy? Ok if prescription needed.

I am in U.K. . I use Hydroxocobalamin , as that is what the NHS uses . It is excellent . I tried Methylcobalamin ampoules, ( much more expensive ) but found them no different than Hydroxocobalamin . I hear that different people suit different forms of B12
I cannot get B12 injections regularly enough from my doctor , so I buy from excellent German online pharmacies ( no prescription. needed in Germany )
i know that apohealth.de will deliver to USA . You can use the reference number 16199653 to get Panpharma B12 depot ampoules . They cost about €10 ( Euros) for a pack of 10 ampoules (1mg) This is what I use . This site available in English
You can also get hydroxocobalamin from German Amazon ( available in English)
They supply Pascoe B12 depot ampoules and Hevert B12 depot (depot means Hydroxocobalamin) If you don’t state “depot” you bring up Cynocobalamin , which I’m sure you know is the “go-to “ampoule in USA These can be obtained in Canada quite easily .
I hope that this information helps . Best wishes .
You can also buy Pasco hydroxocobalamin 1.5 mg/ml from apohealth.de. I inject this every third day which saves me time & money and works very well for me.
Does your doctor have a preference? If not, I would not worry about trying other forms. I used to take methyl because there was a little bit of science supporting the idea it was better (not tons), but I switched to the more available form, Cyanocobalamin. As far as my personal experience, it worked fine. Good luck !!
Everyone is different in how they react to the different forms of cobalamin. I have used all three at different times. Methyl didn't do anything more effectively except empty my wallet more quickly. I have settled on Hydroxo by Rx here in the USA. It's about $30 per 30 ml vial at major pharmacies with GoodRx discount and prescription from your physician. Cyano is about the same price, whether from US pharmacy or Canada without Rx. The German suppliers offer both and are reliable but more expensive when shipping is counted. I seem to get on much better with Hyrdroxo, but have used Cyano when there was the shortage of Hydroxo.
I have tried (and failed) to find hydroxo in the US through the major pharmacies. May I ask, what is the brand name of the product you’re using?
I inject methyl B12 from a compounding pharmacy, about $43 for 30ml, and it works well for me but must be refrigerated. I’d love a shelf stable option for travel.
I did source some hydroxo from Germany with free shipping but a local source would be awesome.
I get mine from national chain Walgreens. Up until about three months ago, there was a national shortage that pushed me to Germany due to issues with the manufacturer in Portugal, but it seems to be stable now.
Although there can be delays in updates propagating, they are the official sources and seem more relevant and definitive than what someone at CVS said.
