I had a GP appointment today, booked weeks ago to discuss my ferritin sats ( next step is testing for haemochromatosis) but in the course of the conversation, I asked about her take on the Gastroenterologist saying she doesn't think I have PA, and she replied that she isn't sure what to make of it but that do have a B12 deficiency , and that to continue injecting myself as I am is not going to do any harm. I was thrilled because she previously insisted that frequent doses of B12 are dangerous and refused to acknowledge that I was self injecting. Hooray! I think I will keep her now .
A win today at my GP visit. - Pernicious Anaemi...
A win today at my GP visit.
Hang on to this Dr with both hands she is a rare find.
Good luck with future appointment.
You probably have already eliminated this possibility but high Ferritin can be a sign of pre diabetes
fingers crossed she doesn't change her mind again😬😅
Hi DiSews
Yay!! Seems like your GP has done her homework!!
Delighted for you and hope she continues to walk your recovery path with you.
🤗🤗🤗
Good news.
Sometimes what you say seems to have been ignored or dismissed by a GP - but actually made them have a rethink or check their previously-held views or taught information later on.
Don't get fooled by the pokerface !
Here's hoping she is interested enough to keep learning .
I think that she will. She cared enough to look, which changed her opinion, and that is promising.
As for gastroenterologists, I have seen three - who all told me I had IBS. The first told me that 5 minutes into my first (and last) appointment. My GP disagreed, and kept sending me to another one.
She even rolled her eyes.
that’s so good!! I’m really happy for you, I hope she continues to be helpful!
