I will be self injecting. I was told to get my supplies from medisave but it won't let me order anything.

Where does everyone order their stuff from?

hello, here are some alternatives:

I have also used ukmedi.co.uk and found them quick, easy.

medscope.co.uk is a sister company of medisave without restrictions of medisave.

exchange supplies

amazon.co.uk

There are others but I can't recall atm.

Best wishes, x

Isn't it dodgey buying from anazon ?How do you know everything is sterile?

Hi Popcorn12345,

Now the easiest way is to look at Wheat’s bio which she has kindly completed and you will see that she has contributed many posts. If you read them then you will realise that Wheat is a wonderful asset to the community. Plus provided tried and tested recommendations whom we all use.

Many years ago, we generally used word of mouth, we would talk to each other. How does a person know something is sterile ? You look at the packaging and the labelling of it which includes :-

1) The steriliser used

2) The cycle or load number

3) The date of sterilisation

4) The expiration date

It says STERILE because manufacturers have to follow a gazillion laws to sell a product. So, just from this image, I know that there is a petrol station just up the road from where it was manufactured and packaged. The LOT number can also identify who was working that day. Well, I never it’s Yamal’s aunty’s second cousin twice removed.

I prefer to buy elsewhere because Amazon is not a dedicated medical supplier as such and they are more expensive. As for all being sterile, I don't know how one can prove that from any supplier.

Why won’t Medisave let you order?

You aren’t trying to get the ampoules of B12 from them, are you? Those have to come from German suppliers.

But Medisave should supply everything else, including needles, which Amazon won’t (not sharp ones anyway, as far as we could see).

They are just down the road from our local Sainsbury’s, though I am not sure we could just pop in 😛 but we get all our stuff other than the ampoules from them by mail, no bother.

Hello. Popcorn12345 I hope you do not mind me answering this question.

It seems that medisave have not resolved this matter yet. Here is my post 28 from days ago, review at Trustpilot :

'Medisave are usually great, even with back order items I was kept fully informed. However at checkout recently there was an additional message basically requesting confirmation of Business status for injection items. Why? It is not a legal requirement. Many people rely on self injection supplies for essential treatment. This is causing worry and distress. Of course they can supply whom or what they wish, but this is unexpected'.

Reply from Medisave UK Ltd

This is a mandatory requirement from our banking partner, we are currently in the process of onboarding a secondary partner and this checkbox will be removed. You may also use our sister company medscope.co.uk without any restrictions.

End.
