Hope this is a blip...

Hi all, I'm noticing a return of the nerve pings and tingles that first took me to the gp 5 months ago, especially the weird quivering lips... all this disappeared pretty soon after 6 loading doses, and I SI every 3 days since then. Taking iron, folic acid, VitD as recommended and eating a daily banana. All levels were good when tested a month ago.

Also noticing blood sugar levels suddenly seem to drop randomly - not measuring them, but feeling typically shaky and clammy.

I've had reversing out symptoms but they've always been new and different, never had these old ones reappearing and I'm slightly freaked out...

Is my body calling out for more frequent injections? Have I stopped being able to use B12?? Am I missing a co-factor? Any help appreciated 🙏 thankyou

Yes could be the heat, I was outside in it most of Friday. Thanks for reassurance that it could be something so simple...

I had a similar experience a few months ago. Taking a moderate strength vitamin b complex has sorted it out. I wonder if i was low on pyridoxine as all the other co factors were accounted for.

Interesting...I'm not taking any additional B vits as I wanted to be stable on the other supplements first, so that's a good suggestion. Thank yiu!

I don't know if you take b6? Strangely it appears that either high or low b6 can cause pins and needles type symptoms in some people. The P5P pyridoxal form seems to cause less problems if you are taking b6, for example in a multi-B. Equally this may not be of any relevance to you.

I don't currently take B6 - but now you're the second person to suggest this, I'll definitely try it! Thank you.

Hope it helps. Given that b6 can either help or actually make things worse it might be prudent to initially trial very small doses and take it from there?

Yes I will proceed carefully!

I second this suggestion. It is highly recommended to take B6 or P5P and folate (folic or folinic acid or methyl folate) along with B12 supplementation. Any chance your serum has deteriorated or expired this being a weaker dose!

Pretty recent prescription of B12, but i may try a newer box to double check. I'm good for folate levels but I will definitely start the B6. Thank yiu.

Do you have your test result levels for folate, ferritin, B12 and vitamin D?? One of them might not be high enough since there’s a difference been normal and optimal results

Folate was a bit high but my specialist wants it that way; ferritin also good; Vit D was a bit low but I've upped it over the last few weeks. B12 over 2,000 as expected. Specialist said all was good in mid April... but B6 never tested. These symptoms are new (well, revisited!) just the last couple of weeks.

so sorry but I don’t have any experience with B 9 so can’t help.
