There are MANY ways in which tributes may be paid to celebrate the life & notable dedication to patient/service user care, of the late Dr JC.

His funeral details are on another recent thread, that being on 12noon on Friday 12 January 2024: healthunlocked.com/pasoc/po....

Please spread the word of his sad death, to ALL who may may not be aware of it yet, . . . in the B12 advocacy world & beyond.

I don't know if this news has yet reached people like Sally Pacholock, or Tracy Witty.

One specific Radio 4 series which pays tribute to the recently deceased is 'Last Word' with this link for contact : bbc.co.uk/programmes/articl... - ENOUGH of us writing to this, & other similar progs is likely to have appropriate tributes paid to our B12d diagnosing & treating champion.

The prog email address is simply: lastword@bbc.co.uk

AtB,

Sid 😐

Tues 2 January 2024, . . . - as I count my 'blessing' to have belatedly understood . . . the STILL too poorly understood 'B12d' issue ! On a day of unusually heavy rain πŸ’§πŸ’§πŸ’§πŸŒ§οΈπŸŒ§οΈπŸŒ§οΈπŸ’§πŸ’§πŸ’§in the W Mids.

Very good idea Sid. Dr Chandy has helped so many people and perhaps saved their life or at least their quality of life more than any other Western Doctor ever has.

His pioneering work and Christian ethos was centred on people, not profits, protocols, or pharmaceuticals. He was there, on call, with empathy, sympathy, support, advice, and reassurance for everyone in some of their darkest moments suffering with a horrendous condition that distorts one's health - mentally and physically - and leaves sufferers unable to convince the established Western medical healthcare system of their symptoms and struggles.

Dr Chandy knew first hand that B12 injections was a powerful antidote to suffering since he was born in India and practised medicine in a nation of many vegetarians. He saw how important B12 was for health and vitality but also had many patients with unexplained symptoms linking to deficiencies in B12.

While it is a sad day that he is now gone from this Earthly plain, his legacy will and must live on. One way to do that is to purchase his book and study the theories and case studies. But another would be to set up a charity helpline in his name to fund research into the impact of B12 and nutritional status and advocate for change. The general population live in complete disbelief that the lack of a vitamin could have such a monumental impact on a person's health and in many cases leave them with physical or mental damage that could easily have been avoided.

Sadly, for a few reasons, I doubt Dr Chandy will be accepted with recognition from mainstream sources. He was a truth-seer - a lightworker. Someone who believed in helping others and not 'towing the line' of the medical establishment.

Dr Chandy's story is a powerful tale of the impact that immigration can have in Britain. Without him, many of us would be disabled or had an early death. Yet, it took an Indian-born man to show the British medical establishment they were wrong and they silenced him.

Let his life be a message that, in the coming years, more and more people will realise they cannot trust everything their Doctor tells them. They will come to realise how British medics receive zero training in nutrition and this is absolute madness.

That is the legacy of Dr Chandy we should all remember. If he gets recognition - bravo. I back it all the way. And I'm ready to be proved wrong.

But, from my own experience and from Dr Chandy's, I remain skeptical.

At the very least those who have been touched by his kindness can remember and honour him for the selflessness and dedication he showed us.

Dr Chandy,s charity b12d.org already exists and is a support group and info website. The Pernicious Anaemia Society also a charity funds research into b12 deficiency and you can help by donations and becoming a member even if you don't have a diagnoses of Pernicious Anaemia because they run loads of surveys and studies on things like symptoms and treatment which help go into papers like the recent BMJ article. You can also donate to the b12 society which is a charity who provide lots of help to individuals.

Thanks. Yes, I am aware of the b12g.org website and the group run by Hugo Minney. They don't receive much, if any, funding and there is no charity infrastructure to raise funds. My thinking was to reboot the charity in honour of Dr Chandy and offer a helpline, not a regular meeting, for supporting people with B12 deficiency. The groups can help up to a point but meetings are irregular and it's intimidating to join a group of stranger to talk about your struggles.

But of course setting these things up requires money and big donations. It needs donors and advocates or people with money who've been affected by such things.

I do give to PAS and I find b12 society too dogmatic I'm afraid. Just being honest.

And by the way, I used to be a professional charity fundraiser for 14 years and raised money from many sources like trusts, corporates, and major philanthropists. So would be willing to donate my time and experience to help set something up.
