Hello dear friends

I read here some post that someone is injecting one or two time a day of vitamin b12 ampules (1000 microgram or 1 mg). Is it safe to inject such a massive b12 one or two time a day for life??? I thought that the protocol for b12 deficiency treatment is loading doses of 6 ampules during 2 week and 1 ampul a month for maintenance. But here i saw posts that someone's wrote about injection of one or two 1000microgram ampules. Is it safe?

Yes, it is safe . B12 is the one vitamin that can be administered very safely in massive doses. I’m sorry that I haven’t the links for you to demonstrate how safe massive doses are , But someone will inform you . I made a friend on this forum who lived near me , and she used to inject 1mg twice a day . It was the only way she could exist .

No scientific paper exists that maintains that there is any massive dose of B12 that is toxic .

Forget protocol— P.A. is generally poorly understood in the medical profession. We have to find by trial and error what is best for us.

Also “ Guide Lines “are just that, and GPs don’t have to follow them, and they often don’t !

So inject as often as you need to . But also don’t forget folate / folic acid ( vitamin B9) is necessary. to work with B12

Now that can be overdosed in tablet form , but not in food ( folate) A modest dose in a tablet is 400mcg taken daily Best wishes .

If increasing b12 twice a day, does one need to increase folate?

I believe that a 400mcg folic acid tablet daily will suffice and eating folate rich green vegetables .

Its not for me. I inject EOD and stopped taking the 1.25 mg per day folic acid and became very low on it - plus B12 seemed not to be working. Put it up to 2.5 mg per day and now doing much better. I do not eat large amounts of fortified cereals, beans etc. so thats probably why. Now I am injecting once daily and taking 5mg folic a day with a bit of excess wind the only problem.

I would not eat fortified cereals if you actually want to heal. The absolute poison in them will shock you. Eat organic and clean as possible.

I inject twice a day and have a for well over a year. The only side effect is that I continue to feel better. I take 800mcg of folic acid and maintain a very regular type diet. I tried the high dose 5mg daily folic acid recommenced by some FB groups and it did nothing for me except give me horrible GI problems. As soon as I went back to my dose, it went away within a few days. I plan to adjust back to 400mcg tablets as soon as I use my current large supply of 800mcg tablets. Unless you have a known inability to absorb folate and eat a normal diet, 400mcg should be enough for you regardless of how often you inject. You should have your folate level checked to be sure you are in the normal to upper normal range. But remember, treating B12 is about how you feel, not what your numbers are.

Look up the article - I don't have the reference for it - "Treatment with high dose vitamin B12 been shown to be safe for more than 50 years"
