Can I still buy my b12 overseas with new law

I am afraid of our New Zealand govt’s intentions with the new Therapeutics Bill Products just passed thro parliament. They want to make all vitamins minerals and natural products only available by prescription and illegal to import by patients. That would mean no over-the-counter nor online sales for B12. Dystopic times we live in!!

I just became aware of this! Thankfully it looks like it will take until 2026 for then to work through all the details. But scary for the future! Yet another think to add stress.

What 😱 You are not having a good week are you 😭 That is just insane and crazy controlling! I don't know what to say 😥

OMG! I know!! Now I have to worry about what that would mean in the future. I didn't know about this until today!! Its our biggest fear, lucky! I was reading that the Maori in NZ are saying the government can't interfere with their traditional medicines and it goes against the treaty! I am hoping it will hold it all up for along time But it has gone through all the official stages eek!

To be honest it sounds as if the law falls foul of some basic human rights which means that most countries have legislation that allows imports of necessary health/medical products not available locally for personal use.

It’s a worry wondering if they will still be available - especially for those of us that have found life changing benefits/improvements in symptoms. Good luck brendandave. I’d be stocking up on supplies and hope you get decent ‘use by’ dates on what you do buy when your getting close to the import changes

Our world is crumbling around us. Tye elite won't be happy until they live on earth alone. I hope you get your b12. I personally would take a risk.

I suggest you join with others to challenge your governments attack on human rights. Its ridiculous by any measure.

If this is happening in NZ, I fear if that could happen in Australia 🇦🇺???? Why do governments want control over such a fundamental vitamin??? Hopefully this won’t be happening and any such decisions be reversed. Get as much supplies as possible and store in a dark place 🤞🤞🤞

This would be a total tragedy if it happened!!!

This is also happening in Canada and will be slowly introduced around the world. Thanks to the public ignorance and lack of critical thinking and compliance.

No idea how people have lived through the last three years and not had a lightbulb moment that the governments do not give one iota about our health, wellbeing or freedom. Big pharma don’t want us healthy, look at food supply and what’s in it. In all shops they have a small health section! Why is not all the food healthy organic and good for us?

We can all go tomorrow and get anti depressants, vaccines and other prescriptions which damage our health. But try and get a life changing and crucial b12 injection .

Before my life was saved by a nurse after 50 plus appointments over the years with doctors I was offered all sorts of drugs. Not once was diet, nutrition and exercise mentioned. In fact when I brought it up I was ignored.

I totally agree with you philAB! I am so angry and upset at how I am being made to feel by these doctors. I am only living about 5% of my life right now with trying to navigate debilitating health due to PA, nerve damage and chronic exhaustion. The doctor is obsessed with the fact I am self injecting twice daily. He has taken it on himself to contact a neurologist, not about my condition BUT!! for him to tell me how many b12 shots I should be having. I will paste the reply from the arogant neurologist. Meanwhile he wrote a prescription for 300 gabapentin that I don't want. I told him,I wanted to use the b12 to treat symptoms and pain. Here is the reply

Dear Dr ***** is the advice for such frequent B12 injections from a specialist looking after her pernicious anaemia or is it patient driven? It seems quite excessive. Recent B12 levels show that the patient is well replenished. The patient can go onto B12 injections every 2 months. Kind Regards, Jae Hong, Neurologist.

Priority: P5 - Non contact (only use after 2nd Neurologist review and letter dictated)

This is how B12 specifically is in USA. You need a prescription. I wonder how it is compounded or made.... I wouldn't know how to start looking into it. There has to be another way.

Yes! I am buying my b12 from Australia and SI ! The doctors are struggling with that. I will be continuing ti do daily regardless of their mere 8 weekly suggestion. I have symptoms flare by 34 days as it is if I dont! x

Well thank you again for all the love and support! It really means the world to me right now. I just feel so unwell and so emotionally exhausted, I had the Endoscopy last week! Just waiting on the results. The specialist said there was some inflammation where they are normally suspicious of H.Pylori but I tested recently neg for that. Unfortunately, the doc had not specifically asked for any particular test so I think they are just doing the basics. I am seeing a new doctor on Wed for results and take some good recent info on b12 def to share with him. xxxx

looks like this is going to be repealed by the new government. This is from The Spinoff yesterday -

"All the repeals and reversals planned by the new government -

The Therapeutic Products Act 2023

Passed in July after a long and bumpy ride, this entailed substantial changes to regulation of medicines, medical devices and natural health products. It attracted more than 16,000 submissions at select committee – most of them opposed. Both Act and NZ First chalk up this repeal in their coalition agreements."
