From the NYTimes today, article on B6. I've recently added P-5-P to the supplements I take and whether it is a coincidence or not am feeling less fatigue. I have PA and SI with B12 every day as well.

nice article. I take 50mg of P5P. Then a b-complex that doesn't have b6.

Then b12 injections

Magnesium glucinate

Vitamin D, k-2

be careful as you can overdose on B6 and get nerve issues. I’ve had B6 toxicity twice now just from multivitamins with less than 10mg. I eat a whole-food diet and think I get enough of it.

Many multivitamins and B-complexes contain pyridoxine. Which needs to be looked at very differently to some other forms (vitamers).

Nope! This was B6 toxicity taking P5P. The non active and active versions of B6 are different but they’re both still B6 and both able to be toxic if it builds up over time or is taken in high amounts.

That clarifies the issue!

I take .25 mg of P5P twice a day and have twice cut back and as is expected f you are B6 deficient I started to experience pain in my feet. I was B6 deficient as evidenced by a clinical trial of B6.

So the conclusion is if you take P-5-P and have a bad reaction it is B6 deficiency causing the reaction? I hover in the low end of the range and am concerned that I am not using B12 and folate properly as I haven’t tolerated tiny doses of P-5-P and everything I read says the 3 should be supplemented together. I get some from the food I eat, but again I have tested near bottom of range. I get burning feet most night; tolerable but obviously not normal!
