New guidelines on astrazeneca covid vaccinations

new guidelines. 7 september 2022

U.k. government released document regarding astrazeneca vaccination.

It is in boxes and advice to doctors and pharmacies.

UK have stopped this vaccine, but it does state that they should ask what medicines a person is on plus if they have had another vaccination recently. This could also apply to flu vaccine.

B12 included (immunodeficiency)

PLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT.

Hi, where can I read these guidelines please?

in reply to ktwing

if you google ... UK Government astrazeneca covid Vaccine.

The first two results are government information for Covid Vaccinations. All updated 7.9.2022.

The second of which is instructions for pharmacists.

Now Questions being asked if you have immunodeficiency

Medication and if you have had recent vaccine.

How many people were asked before Vaccinations ?

How many people were given information ?

Sorry, Hidden - I have tried to find the information but not been able to get there yet.

Hopefully, someone will find this, check with you and then give a link .

I will look again later at responses to your post to see if this has happened.

I have found that, Hidden - but "if your immune system does not work properly..." does not then list specific conditions. Whether B12/iron deficiency would be included by the medical profession under that umbrella, I'm doubtful.

Pernicious Anaemia is one of over 100 autoimmune conditions - wouldn't you expect them to be listed if included here ? Is this perhaps more a warning to those (like my sister) who have to control an overactive autoimmune system with immunosuppressants ?

Maybe I'm looking at this wrongly.

(I had Pfizer for first two, then (I think) Moderna.)

We do need to know for certain. Maybe we need FlipperTD to interpret this for us !

in reply to Cherylclaire

I quite agree, who knows whats what! Especially when you consider the amount of people here complaining about how there doctors know nothing about B12. Like your Sister overactive autoimmune system. You could go on and on about other illnesses. It was only pure chance I came across this. We were not asked questions or given leaflets. Are we all being led up the Garden Path .... What do they know that we don't.

Its a scarey time for all. From a personal point of view We will take our chance and refuse both vaccines, hubby can't walk and ticked so many of the Boxes and could get no help what so ever.

Even his son and family are rejecting further treatment, it has put the fear of god in them.

We are all different and need different treatments to overcome disability ... What we dont need is Blanket vaccinations for all.

Im further confused.

I thought the worry was with Astra Zenica.

Thats not being used in the UK now.

I had that and was ill afterwatds haning to have platelets checked ect

The second i asked for pzifer and i was okay .

Then got covid when 3rd was due.

Wish they last longer. !!

Nasty virus .

All tricky as you say weighing it all up.

in reply to Nackapan

around this area it was all astrazeneca, but of what I have read is that many pharmaceutical drugs deplete B12, asthma inhailers, anti inflammatory medication the list goes on.

I know people who have had all jabs and have had covid many many times.

Nackapan in reply to

Yes.

I also know alot who havr had covid more thsn once.

Some vaccinated some not.

Covid symptoms reduced in many after covid vaccination.

My friend was very ill with covid before vaccinations.

Had 3 covid vacs.

Got covid again !!

But he said no comparison to first time.

My husband didnt get covid when i had it ??

But had recently had s covid vac. He has type one diabetes .

We all did lateral flow tests in the morning before a family get together. All tested negative . Mainly in the gatden as June.

Seperate towels ,cups ect 3 out of 7 didnt get it .

Who knows .

My mum 93 soon.

Have to be careful for her.

Shes had 4 covid vacs!

One of that group tested positive for covid . LF t negative lke thr rest of us. But had no symtoms at all!!

Some ,including children are carriers testing positive with no symptoms.

So how do we deal with that???my husbsnd wad okay on astra zenica twice.

Astra zenica is not being used in the UK now.

He would have AZ again

I woudnt so that was another battle to get pzifer as a second one

Nor easy

in reply to Nackapan

this just goes to show that we are all individual,

I know a vegan in the midlands who had the Moderna vaccination, was in beds for 2 weeks very ill.

After talking to his cousin about hubby he has now started on B12 supplements.

Here we go; scientist, not medic.

'If your immune system does not work properly' sounds like the ramblings of an idiot. If I've just insulted one of my more educated and more highly paid colleagues, then I can only apologise, but as a statement it's got so many holes in it, it'd be like trying to catch a cloud of flour in a string vest.

Autoimmune conditions treated with immunosupressants are a very diverse group of conditions and they're something I'd best avoid.

As far as I'm aware, the vast range of Covid 'vaccines'* [call me a pedant but I prefer to see the word vaccine reserved for those products associated with cows!] do a fantastic job. Both the viral ones, and the mRNA ones. They're manipulating our immune systems, and sometimes with some side effects that we didn't predict. [I am just recovering from what I think is a side effect of my second booster. 11 weeks ago, I had the jab, then next morning awoke with a somewhat swollen foot, ankle and calf. I'd never had that before. No specific cause could be found but it's much improved, and just about gone now. It's classified as lymphoedema, and may, or may not, be linked with the booster. It could be something entirely different, but the important thing is it's eventually resolved.]

I can't think of any obvious reason to class B12 deficiency or iron deficiency in the general 'autoimmune conditions'.

* Vaccine' from 'Vacca', a cow, [Latin]. This term comes from the original Cowpox vaccinations for Smallpox, using Cow derived material. Lady Mary Wortley Montagu introduced a system of innoculation against smallpox that she had discovered was being used in Turkey. This was using smallpox, not cowpox-derived material. This was probably riskier than Jenner's cowpox vaccine, but it does seem to have worked. We learn that Jenner introduced 'vaccination' but tend to overlook Lady Mary's work, which is 'innoculation', not 'vaccination', and nowadays we tend to use the terms interchangeably, so I give in to folks using 'vaccine' for non-cow-derived materials, as it's not worth arguing the point. 😀

in reply to FlipperTD

the statement said "Immunodeficiency ". Not that your immune system doesn't work properly.

I responded to what appeared on the screen, and

"Patient Information Leaflet for Vaxzevria

Under warnings and precautions

If your immune system does not work properly (immunodeficiency) ie B12 Iron etc.

Under. Other Medicines

Tell your Doctor Pharmacist or Nurse if you are taking, have recently taken or might take another Medicines or Vaccin"

Does appear to use the words I responded to, as well as bracketing 'Immunodeficiency' which is an umbrella term for a variety of conditions, including inherited and acquired ones. If you have 'Immunodeficiency', your immune system certainly won't work properly but it could be for a wide range of reasons, and they're not suitable for discussion here. [Well, not by me at any rate!]
