Should you get the vaccine with PA?

Read this on CDC site just moments ago:

COVID-19 Vaccine. GBS is a rare disorder where the body’s immune system damages nerve cells, causing muscle weakness and sometimes paralysis. Most people fully recover from GBS, but some have permanent nerve damage. After more than 13 million J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine doses administered, there have been around 143 preliminary reports of GBS identified in VAERS as of July 30. These cases have largely been reported about 2 weeks after vaccination and mostly in men, many 50 years and older. CDC will continue to monitor for and evaluate reports of GBS occurring after COVID-19 vaccination and will share more information.

ALL THE THINGS GOING ON WITH THE PA I'm trying to heal from adding other symptoms scares the H e double hockey sticks out of me. I'M SCARED IF I DON'T AND SCARED IF I DO.

25092, PA doesn't put you in a special category either in relation to the virus or the vaccine. If you have concerns about a particular virus or vaccine then I suggest you raise them with a doctor or whoever is administering the vaccine. What you are seeing is reports that may just be co-incidences - no idea what the actual incidence o GBS would normally be but 142 in 13 million is very, very small and may not be statistically significant (ie what you would expect from a normal population of 13million) The CDC are obviously monitoring for something that would be outside the number of cases that would be expected anyway.

The risks from catching the virus because you haven't been vaccinated are a great deal higher.

Please note that this post will be closed to further replies if it starts to attract discussion of the relative merits of vaccination or particular vaccines and any such responses will be removed.

The crux of the matter is that without vaccination you are likely to be very ill or die with Covid. The vaccines mostly protect you against this and don't expose you to significantly greater risk than you would be likely to see if you studied that many people in any population - if you looked at any 13 million people, some would become ill from various times and some would die. Normally these people wouldn't be noted and you wouldn't hear about them, it's only because the scientists are looking so hard, just in case, and every little thing is being reported. If the vaccines did cause a problem they would have been withdrawn.

My friend has health anxiety and she was worried about having her vaccines but was, like millions of others, completely fine and now is exceedingly glad she has had both her jabs.

Most of us in Britain - including those of us with PA - have had our jabs and are fine. I haven't heard of anyone "in real life" with additional problems resulting from their jabs (other than a short term reaction, like a sore arm or feeling extra tired/a bit unwell for a few days) but I have heard of people getting other, unrelated problems - just being alive and walking about puts us at risk!

With vaccines, if you react badly to the tiny dose in the jab, imagine how badly your body would have been if it had got the real thing!

I am wary too. Considering having Pfizer but not sure yet. Going to do an antibody test and if that's negative I will get a jab this month before autumn and kids go back to school. As vitamin D levels will be highest around now.

A very good friend of mine had a heart attack after the OAZ. Aged 46. The side effect rate is a lot higher than other jabs if you look at the data. She is ok now but had 6 days in hospital.

After my husband had his, I had very heavy periods with clots for 3 months. Which I do not normally. How did the spike protein get to my ovaries?! There is a lot they haven't explained. As they do not know!

Your choice may depend how old you are and what your risk from covid would be.

If your PA is well controlled with B12 injections then it shouldn't be an issue but I agree that you don't want some long term neuro issues to add to your trouble.

May I ask what OAZ stands for?

Leils. Just to clarify…

Your husbands vaccine will not (could not have) affected YOUR ovaries or caused you to have excessive bleeding and clots. The spike protein will not have ‘got to’ your ovaries.

I’m sorry your friend had a heart attack but the timing of the vaccine and the heart attack is most like coincidental, rather than causal..

The most recent research shows that the side effects from the Astra Zeneca and Pfizer Covid vaccinations are equal (including those potentially linked to cranial sinus and other forms of thrombosis). The perception that the AZ vaccinations have significantly more side effects is due to - increased media focus and attention - rather than fact!

There is a lot of nonsense written about Covid vaccines on the internet and many conspiracy theories that drive ‘vaccine fear’ and suspicion.

Please can we be mindful of that fact and not make unfounded comments that may contribute to and spread suspicion and fear about Covid vaccinations.

For me - and for many others like me with compromised immune systems (not from PA, I hasten to add) if I catch Covid, then vaccination may well be the difference between living - or not!

Likewise for others who do not have any underlying health conditions.

For many who were not lucky enough to receive timely vaccination, the affect has, very sadly, proved to be fatal.

My cousin, no underlying issues and not elderly, died of covid before having the opportunity of the jab which she would definitely have had. Can I ask that we are mindful of putting our concerns about vaccination on this forum.

I’m so sorry about that Baggy8. Heartfelt sympathies - that is truly dreadful.

I agree with your comments about vaccination and can understand why you make them.

In order to show our support (and dismay), I have left a comment in the string about this and I am now closing this post to further replies to prevent any further inappropriate comments or wild speculation about Covid vaccinations.

Again - so very very sorry for your loss xx

Hi, I have had both jabs with no problem and no worries about doing so.

I have PA, celiac disease and thyroid issues. My husband and I were in a vaccine study for Novavax ( study reports have been very good) but I became upset because we didn’t have access to a vaccination card so I decided to also get Pfizer. I have now received full doses of two vaccines without a problem. The ONLY problems I had were normal vaccination responses such as tired, red arm, nausea. I recently received the pneumococcal vaccine which has nothing to do with COVID. I had a MUCH worse problem with that one than either of the COVID vaccinations.

Thanks for sharing FlyGranny. Take care

25092. Hope you don’t mind but I am now closing your post to further replies (as per Gambit’s earlier advice that this may happen).

Nothing to do with your post but some comments (which I have responded to) are not appropriate for this forum).

Please do post again whenever you wish.
