breathlessness and bp

hi, looking for advice please.

Had PA and AIG for 5 years, I inject myself and last 3 weeks have been having episodes of breathlessness/palpitations, have seen Gp and listened to my chest didn’t think heart, but have done lots of tests, not back yet.

My BP is always low but at GP was high for me. I’ve upped, iron, folic and bp injections.

Any thoughts please

Do you have any recent iron or thyroid labs you can share? Being low in one or both can give breathlessness& palps and affect bp.

Hi Jade, both tests always come back ok and DRs here never seem to do T3 testing, but thanks

As you may or may not know, labs may not actually be "ok" even when they say it is. If you like, post your results and we can take a look.

Have you checked your blood oxygen levels at all? I went thru a phase of breathlessness last year and put it down to being overweight and hot. That is or was unusual in Scotland. Cutting a long story short, I ended upin hospital where they discovered blood clots in both my lungs and I’m now on Apixiban for life. Just a thought because left to my own devices, I’d never have checked and probably wouldn’t be here.

Yep oxygens always alright, but it’s the first thing I get checked usually

That’s good cos I went thru quite a lot in the hospital when mine wasn’t. I hope you get some answers soon x

Two things. I have had frightening episodes of breathlessness I finally associated with having eaten soy, soy additives, or nutritional yeast. Pan sprays, too, have soy. Can be hours long between intake and symptoms and wake me up at night strangely with a bizarre lack of a sense of an urge to breathe yet feeling like I am drowning & unable to catch my breath (occurring only in deepest of sleep).

B12 helped with a host of other things, including occasional periods of daytime shortness of breath, now also gone. Terrible feelings. It helped to relax, stretch shoulders & chest, distact etc. Now it is all a memory.
