Good morning first of all I would like to say I have found a solution for my itching after B12 injections and hope it might help someone else. I now apply ice for 10 minutes before and after injection. I inject into thigh just off centre to outer part mid thigh. So far so good . My question is with regards to feeling breathless most of time . My folate level is 20(2.1-26.8)
Ferritin 69(13-150)
I inject every other day.
Haemaglobin 136(120-150)
Am on iron 20 mg daily prescribed
Any ideas welcome
Thanks

smg1950, I'm so happy for you! 🥳🤩 Glad you found something that works!
Breathlessness can be so many things. Have you checked with your doctor? First thing to do would be to check oxygen saturation & listen to the lungs and whatever else they would test/check by default.
Have you had covid recently?
Have you had a full iron panel including % saturation at any point? Ferritin alone can be misleading in some cases, it doesn't always track iron levels - you may be supplementing too much or too little without realizing it.
Low B12 and low thyroid can also make me feel out of breath.
There are a million other possibilities unfortunately.
Thank you Jade I had a lot of blood tests but I don’t think I had a full iron panel. My platelets were low so they are doing that test again in a month but I didn’t see GP just a nurse. Xray tomorrow . ECG was fine. I’ll see if medichecks do the above test.
just wanted to ask which iron supplement you take that provides 20mg? I really struggle to take any iron due to gut problems but that sounds a smaller amount so might be ok for me.
I take Cytoplan Iron with molybdenum and Vit C. 10mg of iron . I take one morning one afternoon . I also have a funny gut but I have managed these so far.It is ferrous fumarate if that’s any help.
Can I ask where you buy it? I have looked in various chemists for tablets with lower doses of iron but they always seems to come with a lot of other vits/minerals which I don’t want.
