Feeling jittery after first self injection

Hi guys,

So I did my first self-injection yesterday; got the VITAMIN B12 Depot Rotexmedica ampoules from Amazon.de and Union Medico auto injector.

Initial nervousness aside it was fairly straight forward. Slight discomfort in thigh after injection which passed pretty quickly.

After lunch though I felt VERY bloaty, like there was something large and gassy in my stomach. It was what I'd eaten. It passed after an hour or two.

Once I went up to bed though, I noticed I was feeling very... wired and jittery. Not like I had loads of energy, just as if my body was buzzing. This was particularly in my arms and legs.

I had irregular heart beat anyway, that's a pre existing condition for me but my heart was a little over excited too (ie. ectopics).

Is this a normal reaction to a high dose injection? I'm hoping it passes in a day or so as I don't want to have to stop before eive started. I can't remember how I felt after my first injection almost two years ago.

Thank you,

DT

Sounds as though its woken up some nerves.

I have felt very similar after an injection. I sometimes get a headache too.

Obviously we are all different. I've not had the 'bloaty' feeling.

Many do get a bit worse before better

So your last injection was 2 years ago?

I'm not medical this has been my experience .

Hope you okay soon.

Yeah, I actually just checked and it's more like 18 months.

I had one injection from my Dr 2 years ago, then I got 6 loading doses done privately at a Harvey Nichols (ridiculous you can get them done at beauty parlours but not OTC in the UK), and found my old blood results from a month after. Active B12 levels reached 217 after 6 loading doses over 2.5 weeks and I took 1000microgram of oral supplement at the same time. I can't remember I improved much at the time but I was 100% better than I've been in 2020.

Hopefully it is just a normal reaction. I was assuming as much but whenever my weird, already jittery heart gets involved it always unsettles me ha ha.
