Hi all
I had my second si b12 injection first thing this morning before breakfast, 5 minutes later I went dizzy also my blood pressure had gone high, is this a reaction to the B12.
When is the best time to do injections?
Thanks
Hi all

I've always eaten before an injection
Sit down with a glass of water after it. I prefer my injections and morning.
A slight raise in blood pressure can happen. I tend to go dizzy when bp low.
Are you taking a daily multivitamin and folic acid?
I think the reaction is proportional to how deficient you had become before the injection.
Do you keep a logbook of all your symptoms and keep track of when they start, how severe they get, and when they end. You will eventually find your pattern so you know what to expect. Each person is different.
Thanks pvanderaa, no I am not taking a multivitamin but are taking B-complex magnesium D3, zinc, vit C, Q10 and selenium.
I have ordered 1000mcg folate, I will start a logbook.

What does Q10 do? And where in the methionine loop does it fit?
Something I looked at years ago made me think that, although it gives you energy in the short term, it sits on the wrong side of B12 in the loop and contributes to building up the backlog that gets released when your body gets B12.
I just finished my loading doses in March and for 2 weeks after I went through absolute hell. All of my symptoms were magnified especially fatigue and dizziness. It's been over a month now since I completed my loading and I'm finally starting to become much less fatigued and less dizzy. before loading I never had headaches or any of that sort of stuff but after loading that's when it all started.
I had a visit with a top neurologist today and although we didn't specifically talk about that he did say that it takes quite some time to heal from all this. from his perspective the body is going through a bunch of reactions and methylation pathways and it takes time for it to recover. I'm by no means out of the woods with my deficiency but it seems to make sense that if you were deficient on something and now you're jamming it into your body your body starts to process it in if you become overload for your system. Just my personal theory nothing scientifically backing us up that I know of.
Thanks for that, are you taking a lot of magnesium? I had great success at curing my fatigue with magnesium.

I’ve been the same Seth headaches seemed to come on within 30 mins of s.i but I’m not sure if that’s just tension headaches because I still get uptight while I’m going through the process of setting up to do the injection.
I screwed up a few days ago when I decided to prop up my arms on the sofa arms I didn’t think that by doing this I was tensing my muscles up so when I went to inject as usual it was so bloody sore I had to stop I couldn’t seem to get the needle right in as I usually did and it freaked me out so I gave it a miss that day. After I’d calmed down I realized what I’d did wrong,I was always used to having my arms straight down by my side when I got my loading doses and when I did the first 6 injections myself so my muscles were relaxed not tight like raising them on sofa, lesson learned lol.
I’m glad your fatigue and dizziness has eased up and as you say I think this is going to be a long process but like you I’m feeling enormous benefits from it,well done Seth take care.
The first time I s.i I had my Fitbit watch on,I was shaking so much due to the fear factor I thought I’d never do it,I had my orange all ready to jab then thought stuff this and just put it straight into my upper arm and that was it over and done with, when I looked at my Fitbit my heart rate was through the roof lol you are bound to feel anxious and this will make you feel nauseous & dizzy so I would just keep an eye on things for the next couple of jabs and I’m sure these things will lessen as you get more confident. If not see your gp for reassurance.good luck and well done re the s.i it takes a lot of guts to do this.take care .
After my last 2 injections (I have them monthly and done by a nurse at my GP’s) I’ve been super dizzy and nauseous (to the point of throwing up) the morning after. I’ve had a few now and this has only happened after the last 2. I’d suggest taking down your symptoms and how long they’ve been going on and seeing if there becomes a pattern. My doctor didn’t think it was anything to worry about but will give me anti nausea pills next time just in case.
